John Bonifaz...
- Founded the National Voting Rights Institute in 1994 and has led it since then
- Was the lead counsel for the Cobb/Badnarik suit to count the votes in Ohio after the 2004 election
- Co-founded the After Downing Street Coalition
- Sued the Bush administration to prevent the invasion of Iraq, and wrote the book Warrior King about it
- Successfully fought the Massachusetts legislature in court when they tried to block a voter-approved clean elections law, and won spectacularly
- Received a MacArthur Foundation grant, aka "genius award", for his innovative legal work on campaign finance reform
